About The FEstival

Wasatch Mountain Film Festival is a production of Wasatch Mountain Arts, a 501(c)3 non-profit based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our mission is to bringing mountain culture and arts together in our vibrant community, and making it available to everyone.

Originally built in 1943, the space was once a foundry and cast the columns for the CW Silver Company, one of Salt Lake City’s oldest manufacturers. INDUSTRY SLC is a nod to the past and a welcome back for all.

Press Passes

Are press passes available for the festival?

Yes! Please complete the form at the bottom of this page to apply for a press pass. 

Will filmmakers be available for interviews?

Frequently yes! While we can’t promise that a specific filmmaker will be available for an interview we do facilitate interview with members of the press. If you’re interested please reach out to our media contact joseph@wasatchmountainarts.com

If I have a press pass and want to attend a screening do I need to register in advance?

Yes, Our screening frequently sell out so the only way to ensure you have a seat is by registering in advance. 

If I have a press pass can I bring additional friends or family?

While we’re thrilled you would like to bring additional guests, they must have paid tickets to the paid events. 

Films

How many films have been selected for this year's festival?

While we typically range between 65 and 85 films, this year we selected more feature films which resulted in less available screening slots. In 2023 we selected 40 films to screen at the 9th Wasatch Mountain Film Festival.

What type of films screen at WMFF?

WMFF is a festival that focuses on immersive and impactful storytelling. We’re primarily screening films that share impactful tories through the lens of adventure. More traditionally this could be categorized as adventure and environmental documentary films. We also have more narrative driven projects as well.

Where do these films come from?

WMFF is fortunate to have built a global following of to tier adventure filmmakers who submit. We typically receive film submissions from more than 50 countries. 

How long are these films?

The shortest films we’ve ever screened are around 3 minutes and longest around 2 hours. This year our longest films are around 1 hour and 45 minutes. 

Art Market & Beer Garden

How many booths will be at the vendor village?

We’re expecting 33 booths at this year’s vendor village.

Will there be live music?

Yes! We have a number of great local bands booked.

What does the vendor village cost to attend?

The Vendor Village is free to attend.

Will there be food?

Yes, we will have 2 food trucks at the vendor village along with a beer garden.

What types of booths will be there?

The Vendor Village will be a mix of outdoor gear brands, envriomental   nonprofits and an art market featuring 15 local artisans who draw inspiration for their work from nature.
