The Wasatch Mountain Film Festival is looking for volunteers to pre-screen film submissions for our main festival in February and our Fall Series in November.
What is Pre-Screening?
After each film submission deadline, we have a few weeks to review all of the submitted films and curate an inspiring program for our upcoming festivals. As a Pre-Screener, you’ll review a specific batch of films and rate them on a scale from 1-10, along with leaving a few insightful comments about your rating (not a summary of the film). There are two pre-screening periods each year:
Fall Series (November): Pre-screening happens from August to September.
Main Festival (February/March): Pre-screening happens from November to December.
What are we asking for?
We’re looking for volunteer Pre-Screeners to help review at least 20 hours of submitted film content. You can choose to contribute to the Fall Series (August-September), the main festival (November-December), or both.
We’ll match you with a film category that aligns with your interests, and then you can watch the films at your own pace through an online platform. Each film will require a simple 1-10 rating and a few insightful comments. The films range from a few minutes to feature-length documentaries.
What do you get in return?
Pre-screeners who review 20 hours of films between August-September and/or November-December will receive some fantastic rewards:
Free Online Streaming Pass: Watch the entire festival you pre-screened for from the comfort of your home.
Two Free In-Person Tickets: You’ll receive a pair of complimentary tickets to any in-person show at the festival you pre-screened for. Plus, you’ll get 15% off all additional tickets you purchase.
Early Access: As a Pre-Screener, you’ll be among the first people in the world to see some of the incredible films premiering at our festival.
